Open Records Request

Effective December 4, 2019

The Texas Public Information Act

The Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) gives the public the right to request access to government information. The request must ask for information already in existence. The TPIA does not require Klein ISD to create new information, perform legal searches, or answer general questions. Additional information about requests can be found in Klein ISD Board Policy linked here.

To Request Information

Before you submit a public information request, please review the Klein ISD website. The information you are seeking may be available online.

Your request must be in writing, delivered in person, sent by U.S. mail, fax or e-mail. Under the Public Information Act, only written requests trigger the District’s obligation to provide a response.
