Volunteer your Way to a Free SNAPP!
White Oak Gives Back will donate funds to SNAPP 2009 when Klein Oak seniors perform community service in the Greater Houston Area. This is a charitable foundation formed by local company White Oak Energy to promote community service for our area’s youth. The White Oak Foundation will donate up to $20,000 to SNAPP 2009 under the following conditions 1. If a student performs more than 6 hours of Community Service, the additional monies generated will be placed in the SNAPP general fund. Students can reduce the price of their SNAPP ticket by $10 for each hour of community service performed. – up to $60. 2. Community Service must be performed in no less than 3 consecutive hour blocks. (3, 4 and more hours of consecutive hours will be accepted - 1 and 2 hours will not with the exception of the 2 hour block with the Emergency Aid Coalition.) 3. Community Service Hours are non-transferable. They only apply to the person that does the work. 4. This option is only available to Klein Oak seniors. Others wishing to attend SNAPP must pay the admission price. 5. Community Service Hours must be performed at approved locations. (see attached) The goal is to help the Greater Houston Area. A student must get permission prior to performing community service at non-approved venues. Community Service Hours performed at the students own school will not be accepted. 6. Community Service Hours must be unique to SNAPP. For example, a student may not get credit for performing the SAME community service (date and hours) for SNAPP and National Honor Society. The student must complete the hours and turn in the appropriate paperwork to Associate Principal Joyce Wells by March 25, 2009 in order to receive credit towards SNAPP.
